Prebiotics and Probiotics Side Effects
Prebiotic foods that contain increased fiber can produce excess gas in some patients. This problem can usually be solved by decreasing the amount of fiber taken with each meal or by taking the fiber as vegetable soups and/ or as green smoothies.
Seniors may have decreased levels of lactase enzyme in the gut. Yogurt and certain foods that contain natural probiotics may produce excess gas in seniors. Read more….
