What is Functional Age Testing with the AgeMeter®?

The AgeMeter® is a new scientific instrument that can be used by a Healthcare Practitioner to measure 12 key areas of your body’s function. For example, hearing memory, lung function, nerve function, etc. The AgeMeter® then calculates an estimate of your “functional age”  (how your body is behaving) from this data, and compares that estimate with your ‘chronological age’, (your age calculated from your date-of-birth). HealthChek™ is the only wellness and anti-aging program that uses the non-invasive AgeMeter® device to help you understand where you are starting on your journey to good health.

The Centers For Age Control (CFAC) is currently conducting research at Harvard Medical School with two senior professors in the field of Age Management Medicine, with the LEAF Foundation, and with other IT professionals in the US on methods to improve the algorithm for estimating and calculating ‘functional age’.

The AgeMeter® Functional Age Test can help your doctor/healthcare practitioner understand your functional age at the start of your program, and how fast the treatments that were prescribed are working to help you regain your youthful energy and vigor.

Does the Agemeter® Functional Age Test hurt?

No. The AgeMeter® is the only currently available non-invasive scientific device that can estimates and track your “functional age”.  The AgeMeter® tests use no needles, no blood, no sputum, no urine or other body secretions.

How long does it take to complete the AgeMeter® Functional Age Test?

A client can normally complete the self-guided AgeMeter® test in 20-30 minutes.

How long do I have to wait to get the results of my AgeMeter® Functional Age Test?

You can normally view your Functional Age [how your body is functioning] immediately, upon completion of the AgeMeter® Functional Age Test.

How can I tell if my "functional age" is getting better?
  1. The Age Meter® Functional Age Test stores your results so you can easily compare your results with your previous tests. You will usually require at least at 2 Age Meter® Functional Age Test/yr. to be able to monitor your improvement.
  2. Your first Age Meter® Functional Age Test is performed by your doctor/ HCP to establish a baseline ‘functional age’ before starting treatment. Follow-up Age Meter® Functional Age Test are performed (usually about 3-6 months later) to see how well you are responding to the treatment prescribed by your doctor.
What happens after I have taken the AgeMeter® Functional Age Test?

Your AgeMeter® Functional Age Test is a part of your HealthChek™ Wellness & Antiaging Program (WAP). Your functional age data are used to generate your HealthChek™ Daily Management Modules. You and your doctor will usually discuss the results of your Age Meter® Functional Age Test and other health issues of concern. Your doctor will help you to get started on your Wellness & Antiaging Program (WAP) that is designed to improve your ‘functional age’.

What do I do after I've take the AgeMeter® Functional Age Test and obtained my functional age?

You should request one of the personalized Preventive-health anti-aging treatment Programs that are available to clients after the first AgeMeter® Functional Age Test. These ‘personalized treatment packages’ are based on confidential discussions between you and your doctor/ Healthcare Practitioner. Your doctor will usually repeat your AgeMeter® Functional Age Test in 3-4 months to monitor improvements in your “functional age”.

 

What are personalized Wellness & Antiaging Programs (WAP)?

A typical Personalized Antiaging Treatment Program for Females can include recommendations/ guidelines for one or more of the following:

  • A personalized Weight Management Program
  • Preventive Health Nutritional supplements
  • An age-appropriate Exercise and Fitness program
  • Recommendations for improved Female sexual function
  • Facials and Esthetics such as Peels, Fillers, Botox
  • Recommendations for Cosmetic dentistry, Laser Hair Removal, etc.
  • Hormonal therapy, if needed
  • Intravenous therapies, if needed
  • Recommendations for Spider veins and Varicose veins treatment, if needed
  • Body Sculpting, Liposuction, if needed

A typical Personalized Antiaging Treatment Program for Males can include recommendations for one or more of the following:

Can my doctor/HCP charge me more for this test?

Yes. Healthcare practitioners in more expensive markets (NY City/ LA area/ Chicago) may charge a higher price for the AgeMeter® tests. The Centers For Age Control (CFAC) does not dictate the market price of the AgeMeter® tests.

Will my health insurance plan pay for my AgeMeter® Functional Age Tests?

Usually, no. The AgeMeter® Functional Age Tests test is considered Preventive Health or “wellness.” Most health insurance plans in the United States cover treatments for “illness”. Some individual components of The AgeMeter® Functional Age Tests test, such as lung function tests, pulse oxygen, may be covered by your insurance company. This is strictly an arrangement between you, your doctor or healthcare practitioner, and your health insurance company.

Will my Health Savings Account (HSA) pay for my AgeMeter® Functional Age Tests?

If you are covered by a Health Savings Account or HSA, you may be able to use some of the funds from your HSA to pay for your AgeMeter® Functional Age Tests. The AgeMeter® Functional Age Tests test is considered Preventive Health or “Wellness.”
