DON’T SETTLE FOR LOOKING GOOD WHEN YOU CAN LOOK GREAT!
DON’T SETTLE FOR LOOKING GOOD WHEN YOU CAN LOOK GREAT!
Your body talks to you all day, every day. Let me give you a few examples: see if you can relate to any of these complaints that my patients give me:
Doc, my energy level is low and I don’t really know why? My get up and go has gotten up and gone!
Doc, I feel sleepy within 15 to 20 minutes after I’ve eaten my regular meal
Doc, I find that I am getting short of breath after walking up a flight of stairs or even a small hill
Doc, I am starting to develop heartburn (GERD) that is interfering with my sleep and my work
Doc, I’ve become depressed and have lost interest in sex and in my personal appearance
If you are honest with yourself, you know that your body has been telling you these things for some time – and you’ve tried to pretend that these things aren’t happening! Your body is a very, very smart machine and most of the time it is merely trying to tell you that you need to shed some extra pounds of fat (not just lose weight). Most of the time, the extra pounds of fat are just one thing that’s causing all of the problems. This extra fat can overwork the heart, can make you lose your energy, make you drowsy after meals, and make you short of breath after walking up that flight of stairs. Yes, it is usually the same thing that is causing all of these problems.
Learn how to lose the extra pounds of Fat and go from looking GOOD to looking and feeling GREAT! The docs at My Preventive Health will show you how to lose your extra fat. It’s not that difficult if you follow our guidelines. Take baby steps to create your GREAT BODY – eat like the Elephant one bite at a time: Did you know the following facts? Just 10 minutes of exercise and fitness activities (deep breathing, cardio and muscle building) three times a day consistently can get you the same results as a 30 minute work-out. If you lost just ONE pound of weight every 2 weeks, you would lose more than 25 pounds in a year! You can learn to use just ONE flight of stairs in your house to get much of your daily exercise. You can eat more snacks than you are probably eating now and still lose weight every month.
We are going to show you HOW TO LOSE FAT – one small pound at a time – and you don’t have to eat “butterfly wings!” You will learn how to eat tasty, nutritious, balanced meals and snacks. Remember that if you lose only ONE POUND of fat every two weeks consistently, you will lose 25 POUNDS in a year – and just think how much more “foxy” you would look if you were 25 pounds lighter!
That would be the worst thing in the world for you to do! Remember when I said your body is a very smart machine? Well, if you try to starve your body by skipping meals, the body immediately goes into what the doctors call “starvation mode.” The body thinks that is has to protect you from starvation and the brain sends a strong message to all organs of the body telling them: “This lady is going to starve. She is eating very little food so we can slow down her engine and we will have to hold on to all of her fat (energy) stores to prevent her from dying!” Your body then responds by slowing down your metabolic rate and this makes it difficult or impossible for you to lose fat. You may lose some weight by losing your critical body water and burning your muscles, but as soon as you relax, the body will put that weight back on. You have not done the important thing. You have not burned off a single pound of fat!
Look, I’m a specialist in this area and I know what your Ideal Weight should be: in most cases it is the weight that you were at age 18-19 if you are female, and the weight that you were age at age 20 -21 if you are a male. That’s probably the weight that your Heart, your Lungs, your Liver and your Pancreas were made to handle. But let’s not fool ourselves. Most of us are not going to get back to our teenage weight easily – and most of us don’t have to get back there. So what’s a realistic goal for most people? If you are Overweight or Obese, just aim to lose 10 percent of your body weight. For example if you are a female who is 5 feet 6 inches tall (67 inches) and you weigh 180 pounds, you can set a goal of burning off 18 pounds of fat over the next 6 months. That’s 10 percent of your body weight in 6 months, with some help from your friends at My Preventive Health. Losing 10 percent of your body weight is a reasonable goal for almost anyone who is overweight.
